Following the successful launch of the 3rd Inmarsat-4 (I-4) satellite, Inmarsat have now published further information about the planned repositioning of its constellation to accommodate the new satellite.  The repositioning process will begin in January 2009 and is due to complete by late February 2009.

International Launch Services (ILS) confirmed a successful lift-off of the Inmarsat-4 F3 satellite into orbit today.

The Proton Breeze M vehicle, built by Khrunichev Space Center of Moscow, lifted off from Pad 39 at the cosmodrome at 4:43 today local time (18:43 EDT Monday, 22:43 GMT Monday).  After a 9-hour-3-minute mission, the launcher released the Inmarsat-4 F3 satellite into a geosynchronous transfer orbit.    

International Launch Services (ILS) has confirmed that the delayed launch of the Inmarsat-4 F3 satellite has been rescheduled for August 19th at the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
