AST Ltd Achieve ISO 14001 Standard
22 Jun 2009
AST Ltd has achieved the internationally recognised ISO 14001 standard.
ISO 14001 was first introduced in 1996 as a British Standard and requires organisations to have an environmental policy and action plan to manage their impact on the environment. Accredited organisations are committed to continuous improvement and are assessed annually to ensure progress is being maintained.
The ISO14001 standard ensures that AST Ltd has:
-
Better management of environmental risks, now and in the future
-
Increased access to new customers and business partners
-
Demonstration of legal and regulatory compliance
-
Potential for reduced public liability insurance costs
-
Overall cost savings: in terms of consumption, waste and recycling
David Davies, Director for AST Ltd commented “the ISO 14001 accreditation has made us aware of implications we have as a business on the environment and how simple changes can make a big impact. As a company AST are committed to reducing our impact on the enviroment.”
